Book Presentation: Women in the History of Art

Author María José Noain Maura will present her new book Women in the History of Art on Wednesday, March 26 at 7:00 PM at Zubieta – Troa Bookstore (Reyes Católicos Kalea, 3, Donostia).
She will be joined in conversation by Santiago Noain Maura (architect).
The book explores the presence of women in the History of Art, not only as creators —as subjects— but also as objects. Structured thematically, the author reflects on the role of women in art: the female nude, pictorial genres and techniques, artistic education, professionalization, the domestic sphere and motherhood, among many other topics. These reflections are richly accompanied by a compilation of the lives and works of some of the most outstanding women artists.
The book, published by Principal de los Libros, is already available in bookstores.
